Accessibility to education

One of the primary roles of CHIFI in child development is to help and make sure that children are being provided with access to quality education. Many children in disadvantaged communities face barriers to education, such as poverty, lack of infrastructure, and limited resources. Child First steps in to bridge this gap by establishing schools, setting up after-school programs, and providing scholarships and learning materials.

Health and nutrition

CHIFI will strive to play an essential role in addressing children’s health and nutrition needs. Malnutrition and lack of access to proper healthcare can severely impede a child’s physical and cognitive development. CHIFI will run health clinics, nutritional programs, and vaccination drives to ensure children receive essential medical care and nutrition.

Protection and child rights

Protecting children from exploitation, abuse, and neglect is another pivotal role CHIFI undertakes. Child First advocates for child rights, working to eliminate child labor, trafficking, and other forms of exploitation. We also provide safe spaces for children who have experienced trauma or violence, offering counseling and support to help them heal emotionally and sychologically.

Skill development and empowerment

Child First focuses on empowering children with life skills and vocational training to prepare them for adulthood. Children learn problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills through various workshops and programs. This training equips them to face challenges and make informed decisions as they grow older, fostering their independence and self-sufficiency.

Community development

Child First recognises that child development is closely intertwined with community development. They work alongside local communities to identify needs and design targeted initiatives. By strengthening community structures, supporting families, and creating child-friendly environments,

Advocacy and policy influence

Child First plays a important role in advocating for child-friendly policies and influencing government decisions concerning children’s welfare. By conducting research and collecting data, we can also present evidence-based arguments to policymakers, urging them to prioritize child development in their agendas.

Emergency response and disaster relief

During times of crisis, such as natural disasters or conflicts, CHIFI just like any other concerned organisations, is always at the forefront of providing emergency relief to affected children and communities. Our swift response ensures that children receive immediate aid, protection, and support in times of upheaval.

SPORTS DEVELOPMENT

CHILD FIRST is using one of its subsidiaries Rawo Football Academy to help develop good characters in children through sport DEVELOPMENT.
This is one of our thematic areas and strong holds. Since fundamentally sport development is about participation and promoting the opportunities and benefits of participation; Child First is using its Football Academy to facilitate and promote Participation in sport and physical activity which span a wide range of contexts including the wholesomeness associated with the freedom of children’s play to the modification of sport to allow children to be children a little longer.
The cycle of participation continues to junior and youth sport, where the rules, regulations and traditions of a sport become the foundation to protecting the “institution” of sport, to participation in senior competitions and ultimately, to elite and professional sport.
Sport development research and practice therefore is concerned with all these manifestations of the sport experience. It logically follows that the purview of sport development is quite large and potentially complex.
Moreover, it is possible to identify at least five themes that could be used to categorise sport development research. These themes include;

  1. Policy, development through sport
  2. Development of sport
  3. Future patterns of sport delivery and marketing in terms of the relationship between professional sport and participation
